The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is a national, private, not-for-profit organization committed to high-performance sports excellence.  It is responsible for all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including Canada’s participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games and a wide variety of cultural and educational programs.

The Marketing Services & Events team of the Canadian Olympic Committee’s Marketing department is seeking a competent, self-starting intern with interest in a wide range of marketing elements to assist with service requests varying in function and scope.

The right candidate will have a proven, deadline-driven record of performance, a passion for marketing and production and a positive attitude.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES:

CONTENT/PRODUCTION (50%):

– Oversee day-to-day management of the COC’s internal image archive
– Contribute to the intake, editing and distribution of images under strict deadline pressure
– Source and archive assets accordingly
– Field internal and external image-service requests
– Contribute ideas generally to story development
– Other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Marketing Services & Events

GRAPHIC DESIGN (25%)

– Assist with the manipulation of designed files to create items such as
– – Powerpoint templates
– – Name badges
– – Other marketing materials

EVENTS (25%)

– Administrative assistance with the coordination of event materials such as
– – Venue research and libraries
– – Creation of Request for Proposal (RFP) documents
– – Maintenance of lists and record keeping
– Assisting with the maintenance of the current inventory of COC event signage and branding materials, ordering new signage and materials as required
– Arranging shipping of event supplies and materials to/from event sites
– Organizing files
– Assembling event binders
– Writing and sending post-event/thank-you letters/gifts as required
– Assisting with the development of post-event reports

QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS:

– Must be enrolled in a degree or diploma program for which an internship is necessary
– Self-starter, motivated and takes initiative
– A creative eye with sharp and quick editing skills
– Passion for, and experience in, photography and photo management
– Comfortable with the digital landscape and editing various file types
– Comfortable manipulating digital asset management systems
– Good verbal and written communication skills
– Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
– Ability to work well under pressure
– Ability to work positively in a team environment
– Commitment to the creative process
– A vested interest in the Olympic movement
– Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
– Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset

TERM:
This internship will run from September to December 2015. Flexible working hours would be considered, with a minimum of 24 hours (the equivalent of three work days) per week. Please indicate your availability on your application.
