Kowalczyk Co-Authors Book on Cross-Country Skiing

release by FIS
September 12, 2010 – Tell-all autobiographies are all the rage with Hollywood these days.  Thespians, musicians, former politicos…you haven’t quite made it as a ‘somebody’ until you’ve got a few hundred pages of factory pressed ink to your name.   Justyna Kowalczyk, Olympic champion and the overall Sprint and Distance World Cup winner of 2009/10 can count herself a ‘somebody’. The Polish ski racing queen appeared in Krakow last week in a new role. She was taking part in a gala promotion for a book she helped to co-author on the history of cross-country ski racing.

Kowalczyk wrote one chapter of the book named simply Cross-Country Skiing. “In this chapter readers will be able to trace the exact path of my life. This is my short biography, which I wrote. The other two parts were written in collaboration with Simon Krasicki and with the great help of my coach Alexander Wierietie. They depict cross-country sport as competitive sport and describe skiing techniques and training loads,” explained Kowalczyk to Polish media.

Kowalczyk returned to Poland after the training camp in Otepää, Estonia. After one week at home to enjoy the glamour of the book launch, she travels to Belorussia. “On Monday I am going to the Olympic Training Center in Minsk, where I’ll be for three weeks.” said Kowalczyk.
