Kristin Stoermer Steira to Continue Racing

release by FIS
April 16, 2011 – Norwegian media are reporting that Kristin Stoermer Steira, 29, will continue World Cup racing until the 2013 Nordic World Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy. Steira had a difficult season when she was injured last summer and had problems with her foot. The injury disrupted her normal training during the off-season and she could not take part in classic competitions before Christmas.

However, Steira overcame her situation and was member of Norway’s gold relay team at the Worlds in Oslo. Her decision to continue was supported and encouraged by her team members Marit Bjoergen, Therese Johaug etc. Steira commented that the atmosphere on the team is one of the main reasons that she decided to continue.

She’s optimistic that her foot will continue to improve and following 4-6 weeks of rest this spring she plans to resume training – read more HERE.
