provided by the USSA

March 14, 2005 – Todd Lodwick (Steamboat Springs, CO) finished sixth
Sunday in the final nordic combined World Cup of the season, a sprint at
the Holmenkollen Ski Festival, and wound up fourth in the standings, his
eighth straight season in the top eight of his sport.

World Cup champion Hannu Manninen of Finland gained his 10th victory of
the season as he came out of 11th place after the one round of large hill
(HS128) jumping and finished 1.3 seconds ahead of Norwegian Magnus Moan,
sprint silver medalist at the recent World Championships in Germany.

Lodwick, eighth in jumping as he turned around his worst result of the
season Saturday when he finished 21st, moved up two places in the 7.5K race
and was 30.2 seconds back of the winner. Bill Demong (Vermontville, NY)
was 23rd as he completed he comeback from a fractured skull in the summer
of 2002.

“Todd was in it until the last kilometer,” said Head Coach Bard Elden. “He
had problems with his jumping [Saturday] but he was good in both jumping
and his cross country this time. He pulled it together pretty well for the
last comp of the season…and to have Billy back this season was a big
addition.”

Lodwick and Demong will return for the U.S. Nordic Combined Championship
March 24 in Steamboat Springs, Colo., where Lodwick is the defending

champion.
