NENSA Announces 2013-14 New England Marathon Series

release by NENSA

October 30, 2013 – For this season, the New England Marathon Series has expanded to include seven events at seven storied venues, each with deep history in New England, and each offering their own unique marathon experience.

The events of the New England Marathon Series offer a classic skiing experience; featuring fully supported courses at iconic New England venues. This series has something for everyone, from the elite racer testing their endurance, to the recreational and touring skier celebrating the winter season.

That mix of athletes, and the service and experience these venues offer to each of them is what makes the series.

“I really like that there are high-level competitors as well as people who are in it to finish. What is special about the Marathon Series is that it is really for everyone, and has a really strong community spirit,” said Chelsea, a skier you’ll likely run into on course again this year. “It’s just a lot of fun to have all the skiers come together like that!”

Ollie, who has raced several of these events echoes the sentiment, “I like the combination of competitive, top-notch racing with the broader participatory experience that a lot of skiers have.”

This year’s New England Marathon Series will cover 302 kilometers (there are shorter course options at multiple events) of New England snow. With two events in Vermont and New Hampshire and three in Maine, skiers will enjoy a diverse sampling of New England’s favorite courses. The official 2014 New England Marathon Series schedule unfolds as follows:

– Tour de Trapp 30K Freestyle at Trapp Family Lodge
