NENSA to Host Comprehensive Bill Koch League Coaching Clinic Oct. 27

October 21, 2013 (Plymouth, New Hampshire) – Running a BKL Club is a multi-faceted endeavor and requires a broad spectrum of skills and problem solving strategies. This Sunday, October 27th, NENSA will be hosting a Bill Koch League Coaching Clinic featuring some of New England’s most seasoned coaches and club leaders.

This clinic is designed to share ideas and methods that are working for some of the region’s biggest clubs so that club leaders don’t have to reinvent the wheel and can spend more time with the kids! There will be presentations on every aspect of running a club including:

– Technique Competencies for Young Skiers by Pat Casey, Holderness Nordic Coach and former USST Coach
– Building Fitness & Skills Through Game Play by Lauren Jacobs, Maine Winter Sports Center and former Craftsbury GRP Team Member
– How to Encourage Healthy Competitive Attitudes with Kids That Want to “Train” by John Ogden, West River BKL Leader, NENSA Board Member, and Southern VT District Chair
– Goal Setting & Program Planning by Jim Stock, Eastern Mass Bill Koch
– Logistics of Running a BKL Program by Kate McNay Koch & Andrea Ogden, West River BKL
– Incorporating Biathlon by Mary Anne Levins, NENSA BKL Committee Chair & Mountain Top Paintball Biathlon Organizer
– Equipment and Waxing by Rick Costanza, Mansfield Nordic
– Welcoming Adaptive Athletes by Patrik Viljanen, NENSA Adaptive Programs Director
