New Assistant Administrator Hired for CCC National Office

provided by the CCC

January 21, 2006 – It was with regret that CCC received Magi Scallion’s notice of resignation in mid-December (Magi’s last day at work was January 9). Magi joined the CCC staff in March 2005 and quickly became an integral, proactive and knowledgeable member of the team. Magi has decided to move on to pursue other interests. We wish her good luck in the future and are confident that her dynamic personality and high productivity will bring her success.

A competition to hire a replacement for Magi was run in the period from mid-December to January 6. Interviews were held on January 9 and Robyn Gear was selected.

Robyn graduated from Laurentian University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Sport Administration)degree. Since that time she has acquired excellent experience in office administration, event management, communication and marketing, working primarily in the area of mountain bike racing. She was a key member of the small team that managed the “24 Hours of Adrenalin” team relay series across North America from 2000 to 2003 and has worked with the Ontario Mountain Bike Cup Series since that time.

Robyn is an advocate of the active lifestyle and is presently preparing to compete in the Ironman Canada competition in August. She is relocating from Newmarket, Ontario, to Canmore in order to join the CCC team. She is looking forward to bringing her skills to bear in CCC’s effort to “Target the Podium” in the exciting years that lie ahead. Welcome to the Canada’s cross-country skiing community, Robyn!
