August 13, 2010 (Aure, Norway) – After finishing 29th and 22nd in the first races at Topidrettsveka, Petter Northug found his pace and momentum and captured the win in the sprint competition while Sweden’s Ida Ingemarsdotter won women’s race. After several mediocre efforts Petter Northug is back on form and destroyed the field in the evening sprint at Topidrettsveka in Aure. Northug’s teammate Eldare Roenning captured second place edging out Sewden’s Mats Larsson who finished third.
In the women’s competition Ide Ingemarsdotter took revenge from last year when she broke her hand in a bad crash. In the final sprint she relegated Hanna Falk (Swe) to second place and Marit Bjoergen (Nor) to third spot. Charlotte Kalla (Swe) finished fifth and increased her Topidrettsveka series lead on Bjoergen.
