Norwegian Ski Federation Signs New TV Deal until 2016

June 17, 2010 – The Norwegian Ski Federation has signed a new media contract with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) until 2016. The NSF finalized a new national television and media contract with NRK whilst NRK reached an agreement with Infront concerning the international rights owned by Infront. Infront today deals with the rights to more than 70 percent of all international ski races.

The new contract ensures that NRK will remain the dominant skiing channel in the future in Norway. It also means that all NSF disciplines will be on Norwegian national television through NRK.

The main new elements of the new NRK agreement includes continued extensive coverage of the Nordic disciplines, coverage of the ladies’ Ski Jumping World Cup in the future, wider coverage of Freestyle Skiing, annual coverage of the Telemark World Cup as well as coverage of the Alpine Norwegian National Championships yearly and a full TV production from the Birkebeinerrennet.
