February 24, 2011 (Oslo, Norway) – The USA’s Kikkan Randall and Canada’s Alex Harvey lead a strong contingent of 10 North American skiers that qualified for the 1.3/1.5km freestyle sprints on Thursday as the 2011 Nordic World Championships are underway in Oslo. Randall and Harvey both qualified 9th in their respective fields.

Norway’s Marit Bjoergen was the fasted qualifier in 3:03.89 in the women’s 1.3km sprint while Sweden’s Jesper Modin lead the men in 2:57.17 on the Holmenkollen 1.5km sprint course.
