Petro-Canada Sport Leadership Sportif 2005 Reminder

October 19, 2005 – Less than two weeks left to register for Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif 2005!

There are only nine days left to register for Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif 2005. A reminder that registrations and payments received after October 28, 2005 will be subject to a $50 late fee.

Registrations are NOT considered complete until payment is received in
full.

Several key highlights at this year’s conference include:

– the Sport Leadership Awards Dinner where more than 30 national team
coaches will be recognized for outstanding performances by their athletes
during the past year;
– the Fox 40 Kitch MacPherson Sport Officials Awards Dinner which
recognizes excellence in officiating and the Paralympic Hall of Fame
Luncheon which celebrates the contributions of its inductees to the
Paralympic Movement;
– and more than 40 Canadian and international experts who will share their
expertise in 22 different workshops on topics ranging from board governance
to the retention of volunteers to the long-term athlete development model.

In addition, the Esteem Team Association will be hosting ACTIVATE 2005, an
annual youth conference which brings together up to 40 young people (aged
16-25) from across Canada to ACTIVATE communities and effect positive
change through sport. It is an opportunity to connect with others, share
thoughts and ideas, and build skills and plans to make change in
communities.

The Esteem Team Association invites you to participate in activities hosted
by the ACTIVATE delegates:

– Open House – Friday, November 11 at 17:00. This Open House is an
informal opportunity to build relationships with the ACTIVATE delegates,
share ideas, and learn from one another’s experiences.
– ACTIVATE address – Saturday, November 12 at 08:45. ACTIVATE delegates
will address the Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif delegation to share
what is important to young people in sport today.
– ACTIVATE 2005 workshop – Saturday, November 12 from 14:30 – 16:30. Young
people from across Canada will be sharing their thoughts, ideas, and
opinions on the relationship between sport, communities, and effecting
change. Come and participate in this interactive workshop to share your
experiences and ideas!
