Pietro Piller Cottrer Forced to Take a Month Off

release by FIS

August 16, 2011 – Italy’s Cross-Country skiing ace Pietro Piller Cottrer will be out for a month due to an injury he suffered while cycling earlier this month. The champion from Sappada crashed during a mountain bike training ride in the woods around his house. Piller Cottrer hit his right shoulder and hip.

“These things happen,” says Piller Cottrer. “Recovery will take about a month. I cannot ride a bike and only do some walking and running. Important thing is I will not miss any training camp on snow. I will rejoin the team in mid-September to do ski testing,” he confirmed.
