PowerBar Harvest Teams With Intrawest Mountain

October 29, 2003 – PowerBar Inc., creator and leader of the estimated $700 million energy bar category, today announced a two-year marketing partnership for its PowerBar Harvest nutritional energy bar line with Intrawest Corporation, the leading developer and operator of village-centered destination resorts across North America.  Effective immediately, the relationship grants PowerBar marketing exclusivity in the energy bar, breakfast bar and granola bar categories at six of Intrawest's U.S. ski and snowboard resorts.

Under the agreement, PowerBar will implement customized PowerBar Harvest sampling and promotional programs throughout the 2003-2004 ski season at Intrawest's Stratton (Vermont), Mountain Creek (New Jersey), Snowshoe Mountain (West Virginia), Winter Park (Colorado), Copper Mountain (Colorado) and Squaw Village (California) resorts.

“PowerBar Harvest is a healthy snack alternative that's great-tasting and nutritious. It will fuel you up and keep you full throughout an active winter day,” said Christine Schwartz, PowerBar Marketing Manager. “We''re thrilled to bring Harvest directly to the skiers, snowboarders and winter sport enthusiasts enjoying Intrawest's fantastic outdoor playgrounds.”

PowerBar Harvest will be distributed on mountain and around the resorts to keep skiers and snowboarders satiated longer throughout the day, allowing them to enjoy more time on the slopes. The company will sponsor select Intrawest resort events such as snowboarding, free skiing and downhill competitions. Intrawest and PowerBar Harvest additionally will team up on consumer direct mail campaigns, web marketing programs and promotional events at Intrawest retail outlets.

PowerBar Harvest's on-site resort marketing programs will continue throughout the Summer and Fall seasons, targeting mountain bikers, golfers, hikers and general outdoor enthusiasts taking part in the multitude of activities offered at Intrawest resorts.
