March 30, 2012 (Craftsbury, Vermont) – Veteran star, Kikkan Randall (APU/USST), defended her crown winning the women’s 30km freestyle race at the US Distance National Championships held at the Craftsbury Outdoor Centre today. Randall skied the entire race at the front with her USST teammates Jessie Diggins (CXC) and Liz Stephen (Burke Mountain Academy), along with APU’s Holly Brooks, who faded towards the end of the race. Randall crossed the line 1.1 seconds ahead of Diggins, who was followed by Stephen at 14.3 seconds back. Brooks eventually crossed the line in 4th. Canada’s Chandra Crawford also raced today and finished in 7th.
