Revised CPL 2004/2005 Lists

provided by Cross Country Canada

November 29, 2005 – As outlined previously the Canada Points List system is undergoing an upgrade for the 2005 2006 season.

As part of this upgrade all FIS sanctioned races, and license holders have been integrated into the system. Attached are initial revised 2004/2005 points lists derived using the new system. Due to the penalty now applied to races below the World Cup and World Championships level, domestic athletes will see some drop in points from last year’s, year end list. These new values will form the baseline for future reference. National Ski Team selection criteria have been adjusted to reflect the new baseline and an improved picture of the international racing standard.

Over the season, the points list will be transitioned to a web based system where athletes will be able to access all of their points information with a “click of the mouse”.

The following lists rank the top 20 athletes in the World, all Canadians andthe top skier of each birth year if they are not among the top 20. Canadian athletes are ranked against all FIS license holders overall and also with others born in the same year. Please note that below the Junior Man and Junior Woman level, a ranking versus international skiers has not been included. This is because many international juniors do not hold FIS licenses.
