December 28, 2011 (Wolfeboro, NH) – The Nordic community was sad to learn that Jennifer Caldwell, daughter of John and Hep Caldwell passed away at her home in Wolfeboro, NH, on Tuesday, Dec. 27. Jennifer raced for Middlebury, the University of Vermont and was a member of the U.S. Ski Team.

She found her niche in long-distance skiing and was a two-time champion of the Great American Ski Chase winning every marathon on the U.S. circuit for two years including the most-prestigious ski marathon event in the U.S., the American Birkebeiner.

Jennifer suffered from cancer and is survived by her loving husband Howie Bean and daughter Anya, her parents John and Hep Caldwell, and brothers Tim and wife Margaret, Sverre and wife Lilly, and Peter and wife Darcy, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 30, from 4-7pm at Lord Funeral Home in Wolfeboro, NH, and funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Church.

June 4, 2009 (Bozeman, MT) – Dear Skiers, Sean McCabe, loving husband to Olympian and Factory Team member Laura McCabe and father to their two wonderful daughters, has been diagnosed with Undifferentiated Anaplastic Carcinoma, a very rare and aggressive type of thyroid cancer.
