November 24, 2007 (Silver Star Mountain Resort, BC) – The management of Silver Star Ski Resort Ltd. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Robin Baycroft to the newly-created position of Manager of Resort Services. Baycroft, 35, is a ski industry veteran who moved to Silver Star in 1992 to take a teaching job with its highly-respected ski school.

In 1998, he achieved his goal of the CSIA Level IV certification, and later honed his resort skills as Silver Star’s Events Coordinator, organizing large-scale winter and summer events. Wearing many hats while working at the resort, he even served as a Fire Chief of the Silver Star Fire Department!

With the purchase of Silver Star in 2001 by the Schumann family, Robin soon moved from Events into the role of Guest Services Manager where he gained further appreciation for all aspects of the guest experience at the Resort. After two years in this roll the a door opened into a new challenge and for the past two years he has excelled in the position of Regional Sales Manager for both Silver Star and Big White Resorts; building relationships within the ski and snowboard industry throughout BC, Alberta and Washington State.

The new role of Manager of Resort Services will include directing the Silver Star Guest Services and Events teams, in-resort marketing/branding, the Silver Star website, media relations, and sponsorship execution.

“Robin’s worked just about every job there is to do at Silver Star, I’ve even seen him barbecuing steaks for mountain biking teams,” comments Michael J. Ballingall, Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing at Silver Star and Big White Resorts. “Robin is one of the people that truly create the intimate “My Mountain” experience that keeps guests returning to Silver Star year after year. He will be a key player in ensuring the success of the resort going forward, and very much be the face of Silver Star to our guests, media and throughout the resort industry,” Ballingall said.

Robin Baycroft resides in nearby Vernon with his wife Jackie (whom he met at the resort on the first day he started work) and their three children.
