Silver Star Mountain Resort Kicks off 2013/2014 Season Strong – My1Pass is Back

October 23, 2013 (Silver Star, BC) – One of Canada’s top winter destinations, Silver Star Mountain Resort, has once again raised the bar for the ultimate ski-cation. Opening November 28, 2013, Silver Star boasts over 3,000 skiable acres, 12 lifts, 15 restaurants and Canada’s only ski-in, ski-out bowling alley. From leisure-lovers to thrill-seekers, Silver Star has several new experiences for 2013-14 and is also bringing back celebrated favourites for the holiday season.

The Zone
Brand new for the 2013-14 season, The Zone, located right beside the village, is comprised of three distinct components: the Learning Zone, the Jib Zone and the Air Zone. The new and expanded Learning Zone, will feature wider and gentler slopes to provide a better learning experience for skiers and riders. The Jib Zone will offer an introductory terrain park area for learning small rails and the Air Zone will feature a Katal Airbag for practicing free style jumps. The airbag is available to anyone for a nominal fee and will be operated on Friday and Saturday evenings by the Silver Star Free Style Club. –more

Kingfisher Heli-skiing
Silver Star has partnered with Kingfisher Heli-Skiing to offer powder seekers the perfect winter getaway. Heli-skiers will have access to 117,000 acres of terrain in the breathtaking Monashee Mountains from December 26 to January 15. –more

My1Pass is Back
Back by popular demand, My1Pass returns for its second year providing skiers and riders access to all Silver Star has to offer. From Tube Town and outdoor ice-skating to 16km of snowshoe trails and 55km of groomed Nordic Trails, My1Pass provides the ultimate winter experience to individuals and families.  –more

New Skier/Boarder Cross
Accessible by the Home Run T-bar, the new skier/boarder cross will consist of berms, rollers, quick straight-a-ways, multiple lanes, choosable paths, “through the trees” directions, and a few jumps for riders and skiers to test their skills and take it to the next level. –more

Christmas in the Village
Silver Star kicks off the Christmas season with its Light Up the Village festival and keeps the Christmas spirit alive with the Christmas Torch Light Parade and fireworks, photos with Santa, Gingerbread House Making, Christmas Carols, and Santa’s Gift Giving. –more
