Ski Nationals Update 2

provided by the CCC

February 18, 2005 – After careful consideration of the options CCC is please to report that the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is confident they will be able to offer a fair and exciting Ski Nationals in Prince George. The City of Prince George has come to the table and agreed to move snow to Otway from a site about 40 minutes north of the Club. This is not a snow dump but a large paved parking area closed during the winter. The following was reported Wednesday morning:

” We have found a source of good snow– 500-700 tonnes. The City of PG will begin delivering the snow to Otway this morning. As a result we will be able to put on the race in Prince George. We will be limited to the sprint, 2.5 km and the 5 km trails, however, all things considered; it will be the best choice for putting on the event.” “Further, the weather forcast for the next 7-10 days appears to be favourable, with temperatures in the minus teens.”

There are no guarantees but with the best effort and support of the City of Prince George, CCC is looking forward to a great Ski Nationals.
