January 29, 2009 (Toronto, ON) – Following great response to our inaugural international SkiTrax Fantasy FIS World Cup 2009 Contest we’ve extended the team registration deadline to 11pm EST on Thursday, Jan. 29. With lots of racing left in the Veissmann 2009 XC World Cup series, and the Liberec 2009 Nordic Worlds in between, anything can happen. For our 2009 World Cup Contest the top prize is a Fischer 09/10 Package including RCS Carbonlite Skate Skis, Bindings and RCS Vasa Poles (value $1,000 US). Test your skills against contestants from around the globe and win great prizes.

Here’s How it Works
Register your team of four (4) men, and four (4) women including two (2) Outlaw Skiers – one (1) male and one (1) female not in the top 15 of the FIS World Cup overall rankings. The deadline to register your team and team name, or to make changes, is now 11 pm EST on Jan. 29 – the day before the Rybinsk, Russia WCup where Kikkan Randall became the first US woman to win XC sprint gold in Dec. 2007

Points, Prizes
Points will be awarded based on skier performance following each World Cup and we’ve added some unique bonus points such as Liberec Points, Nations Cup Points etc. – all contest rules and info are available here. Contest standings will be published periodically so you can follow your team’s progress and see how you compare with other players.
