SMS Nordic Eastern REG Camp Updates

release by SMS Nordic
June 29, 2013 (Stratton, VT) – Check out the latest from the SMS Nordic Eastern REG Camp underway in Stratton, VT. After an easier afternoon yesterday (skate technique or strength), our intensity continued this morning with some L4 d-pole intervals. We skied up the hill at BMD so these were tough.

Everyone got to start with the SMST2 skiers and hammer away for 3 minutes. On the first boys interval, we had a pretty big lead group, but by the later intervals it got more spread out. Everyone is starting to feel the effects of a tough, hot, humid training week.

This is a pretty tough grade. The strongest skiers were able to get up and forward on each d-pole, while the others tended to get caught with their hips back.

Running the intervals mass start by sex allowed for a good hammer-fest 🙂 . Notice above that Jessie (on the right) is getting a bit higher and further forward (esp in the hips) than Sophie. Some of this is technique, lots of it is core strength.

Chris City (Harvard) and Rob Bradlee (CSU) are amoung the coaches who have been here helping out this week. Thanks to all of the coaches for donating their time.
