November 28, 2013 (Ostersund, Sweden) – Gabriela Soukalouva, of the Czech Republic, took the women’s 15km individual victory earlier today in Ostersund, Sweden, as the race was rescheduled from yesterday due to dangerous winds and wintery conditions. Soukalouva suffered two penalties and crossed the line with a comfortable 1-min+ margin over Slovakia’s Anastasiya Kuzmina in second also with two penalties. Marie Laure Brunet, of France grabbed the final podium spot with only one penalty.

Leading the North American women was Canadian Rosanna Crawford of Canmore, Alta., in 48th with five penalties while the USA’s Annelies Cook from Saranac Lake, NY was just behind in 50th also with five penalties. The USA’s Susan Dunklee (Barton, VT) was 58th, Zina Kocher (Red Deer, Alta.) was 70th, Megan Heinicke (Prince George, B.C.) was 77th, Hannah Dreissigacker (Morrisville, VT) finished 80th, Sara Studebaker (Boise, ID) was 83rd and Megan Imrie, of Falcon Lake, Man., finished 85th.
