Stokely Creek Announces Changes for 2010/11 Season

release by Stokely Creek Lodge
September 25, 2010 (Goulais River, ON) – Richard, with the help of his son Xaver, built a beautiful hewn-log cabin nestled on the Peterson trail near Stokely Lake. We plan for the new cabin to have a variety of uses. It will be a refresher stop halfway to Norms, a snowshoe destination, it will be used for ski and snowshoe events and for over night stays on moonlit evenings. To listen and watch as Jamie and Richard describe the building of the cabin,  check out this YouTube video:

Snow Groomer Garage
It’s time to give the large groomers a home of their own away from the Hillside guest rooms. So, an earth toned garage has been built along the entrance road near the wood sheds. Head groomer Alex is excited about the space. Alex says, “Now the grooming machines can be driven in and out easily and there is plenty of space to work on repairs.”

Robinson Cliff Trails
Gaylen, along with the help of many volunteers, cleared the Robinson Lake Cliffs trail. The trail has been unused for many years. It is a long ski out, but well worth the effort when you reach the top of the cliffs. It’s an amazing panoramic view of the Algoma Highlands and Lake Superior.

Liquor License
Stokely received a liquor license, which means we will be selling wine and beer. Finally, you don’t have to stop on your way in or run out to the store.
