Swiss Cross-Country Ski Team Hires Slovakian Coach Ivan Hudac

release by Swiss Ski Federation

May 11, 2014 – Ivan Hudac of Slovakia has taken over responsibility for the Swiss Cross-Country World Cup team and is going to replace Tor Arne Hetland. Unlike Hetland who was in charge of sprint specialists, Hudac will be working with a mixed group of World Cup skiers.

Hudac led last season the Polish national team. Beforehand Hudac had brought to success Slovenia’s legend, Olympic medalist and Sprint World Cup winner Petra Majdic.

“We are very happy that we were able to find a qualified specialist who will fit into our coaching staff. Ivan Hudac is going to give with his knowledge and experience valuable impulses for the further development of our athletes,” said Markus Wolf, Swiss-Ski sports director.

Hudac will travel with the World Cup team to the first joint training camp in Sardinia on Sunday.
