provided by the CCC

January 27, 2007 – Team Sprints will make their debut at the 2007 Canadian Cross Country Ski Championships in Quebec City. The opening day of competitions will be held on the Plains of Abraham in downtown Quebec City before the competition moves to Parc du Mont Ste.Anne. The Team Sprints will replace the traditional club relays in all classes including Challenge, Open and CCUNC. Teams of 2 skiers must be from the same club and will ski 3 laps on a 1 – 1.2 km sprint course. The format will consist of semi-final heats of approximately 10 teams, followed by a final in each category composed of 10-12 teams. It is planned that the first 4-5 teams in each heat will move into the finals, however a final decision will wait until final entries are received.

National Championship Club Aggregate Points will be awarded for the top teams.
