February 8, 2006 – Team X-C.com is wrapping up their first block of western Salomon Marathon Cup Series (MCS) events in preparation for the Eastern MCS events. Here’s a recap of the team’s activities for the past 2 weekends:

Kelowna Apple Loppet – Kelowna, BC:

Retailer Association: Fresh Air Experience (Kelowna)

Weekend Schedule:
Friday January 27th: Swix Wax Clinic
Saturday Jan 28th: Kelowna Apple Loppet
Sunday Jan 29th: Meet and Ski with the Telemark Nordic Ski Club Development Team

Results – 3 Podiums
Women’s Overall: 1st – Marcia Birkigt
Men’s Overall: 1st – Phil Villeneuve; 3rd – Chris Manhard

With a break in the Marathon Cup Series last weekend (January 28/29), most of the Team X-C.com took the time ‘off’ to recover and get some regular training in. A small x-c.com contingent decided to head to Kelowna, BC for the Kelowna Apple Loppet, which proved to be an entertaining event with tough waxing conditions. See report below:

Women’s Overall: 2nd -Shayla Swanson (5K); 2nd -Shayla Swanson (10K); 3rd – Brooke Gosling (10k); 5th Brooke Gosling (5K)
Men’s Overall: 1st – Stefan Kuhn (10K); 2nd – Stefan Kuhn (15K); 4th – Cyrus Kangarloo (10K); 5th – Cyrus Kangarloo (15K)

The team now prepares for MCS #4: Mont Orford Loppet near Sherbrooke, QC this coming weekend Feb 12Å
