The Cross Country Experience: Bill Koch

provided by NENSA

February 27, 2006 – Re-released on DVD, “The Cross Country Experience. Bill Koch” is as inspiring and relevant today as when it was first filmed by Rossignol in 1976.

This film, originally created by Rossignol and the World Masters (now AXCS), features great footage of Bill striding loading up his pick-up truck with skis and dog for an outing in the Vermont countryside. You’ll see him taking jumps, taking crashes, striding through the trees, and of course, doing that technique we know now as skating. You’ll see him playing ski soccer with kids in front of the Putney School barn, going on a spring outing older skiers, and reminding us all – “The world would be a better place if more people cross-country skied.”

AXCS granted permission for the release. Topher Sabot, Putney Ski Club, donated the digitalization, cover formatting, and production of the first 30 DVDs. All proceeds, after supplies and postage, will go to programs to support elite skiers and their quest for another medal and a lifetime passion for cross-country skiing.

DVDs are available through NENSA. Send a check for $20/DVD, made out to: NENSA, memo: Bill Koch DVD, to Dorcas Wonsavage, 6 Mourlyn Road, Hanover, NH 03755.
