Tobias Angerer Switches to Fischer Skis and Boots

release by Fischer
May 21, 2012 – Tobias Angerer (GER) and Fischer Sports have joined forces. The experienced racer from Bavaria has signed a two-year contract with his new equipment sponsor and will be making his preparations for the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi with skis and boots from the Nordic number one.

The 2007 winner of the Tour de Ski tested the equipment extensively in a wide variety of conditions over the past weeks and was convinced from the outset: “It was the perfectly tuned interplay of skis and boots that particularly impressed me right from the beginning.”

As not everything always went to plan in recent years the overall World Cup winner in the seasons 05/06 and 06/07 would like to get back to his winning ways with the new equipment. With the World Championships being held in Val di Fiemme in 2013 and the Olympic Games following in Sochi in 2014, Tobias has his sights firmly set on medals and to achieve this goal he is leaving nothing to chance.

“Everything has to fall into place. And equipment is an important piece in the mosaic. I’m confident that with the new equipment I can be a force to be reckoned with among the world’s best,” says Tobias Angerer on the partnership with his new sponsor.

Fischer is also taking an optimistic view of the future together with their well-known new signing. Gerhard Urain, Nordic Racing Director at Fischer, explains: “As Germany is an extremely important market for us we are delighted that Tobias Angerer – the best German cross country skier – has joined our team. We are convinced that this partnership will be a very successful one.”
