Update On Saskatchewan Ski Manual

provided by Cross Country Saskatchewan

November 12, 2003 – What's your favourite ski trail in Saskatchewan? Why? We want to know as part of a new book that we are publishing in co-operation with Cross Country Saskatchewan, Discover Saskatchewan and Rediger Communications Inc. Originally, we planned to publish a manual, using funds from the 1989 Jeux Canada Games Foundation. However, the SaskTel Telephone Pioneers have presented us with additional funding and Discover Saskatchewan, a Regina-based publishing house, has agreed to publish the idea as a book. Rediger Communications Inc. is researching and writing the book on contract.

The Saskatchewan Cross Country Trail Guide will now be part of the Discover Saskatchewan series and has the potential to reach a large number of cross-country skiers from far and wide. It is estimated that 3,000 to 5,000 copies will be published and distributed to bookstores throughout the province. Other books in the Discover Saskatchewan series include: Canoeing the Churchill River, A User's Guide to Regional Parks, and A User's Guide to Historic Sites.

While we thank all of the people who have already completed survey forms about their ski club and trails, we are still waiting for a number of surveys to be returned to us either by mail, email, or fax. In addition to the surveys, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome personal stories about your favorite ski trails, and why they mean so much to you. If you have any photos of you or your family on a Saskatchewan ski trail that you would like to submit as well, even better!

Please submit your surveys, stories, and photos by mail to: Rediger Communications Inc., 2022 Montague St., Regina, SK, S4T 3J7 or by p.rediger@redigercommunications.com. You can also fax them to: (306) 586-5177
