US Star Kikkan Randall Changes to Fischer Boots

release by Fischer

July 09, 2014 – Kikkan Randall (USA) won the small crystal globe three times in succession as the best sprinter of the season in 11/12, 12/13 and 13/14. The fastest woman in the cross-country World Cup will now be relying on not only Fischer skis but also boots from the Nordic number one. She has joined forces with team colleague Sophie Caldwell (USA) which means that in the future there will be combined US girl power competing with Fischer’s ski and boot system.

With Andy Newell, Simeon Hamilton and Kris Freeman deciding in favour of Fischer boots in recent weeks, it was the ladies’ turn to make a choice. And there was no doubt about it: “I have thoroughly tested both the classic and skating boots,” explains Randall, convinced about her decision. “I have a very good feeling as they fit my feet very well. I am sure they will benefit my skiing performance.”

This means that the two-times winner of the sprint World Cup will be preparing for the upcoming season not only with the new boots but also with the new NNN (New Nordic Norm) binding system at the same time.

Sophie Caldwell has also decided to change over to the new system, just like her team colleague. Having managed to make it to the podium for the first time already last season in the sprint event in Lahti, she too will be starting out next season with new equipment: “Fischer provides excellent products and service and I’m looking forward to being a full Fischer athlete.”

Gerhard Urain, Nordic Racing Director at Fischer, is likewise looking forward to the new additions to the boot team: “The most successful US athletes switching to our complete ski and boot system is a very positive sign, especially in terms of the US market which is very important for us.”
