USA Ski Jumping Names 2011-2012 Team

May 26, 2011 (Park City, UT) – USA Ski Jumping announced today the ski jumpers who will comprise the USASJ National Ski Team for the 2011-2012 season. Leading the team will be 2010 US Olympian, Peter Frenette, Saranac Lake, NY who is the only member of the National “A” Team named currently.

Frenette was a member of the US Team at the FIS World Nordic Championships last winter in Oslo and recorded a fine 18th place in a World Cup in Sapporo, Japan and finished second in a Continental Cup there as well.

Selected to the National “B” Team are Anders Johnson, Park City, UT, Mike Glasder, Cary, IL, Nick Fairall, Andover, NH, Nick Alexander, Lebanon, NH, and Chris Lamb, Andover, NH.

Both “A” and “B” Teams will be re-evaluated at the end of the Summer training period.

A trio of ski jumpers are currently in rehab for injuries sustained this past season. They include Nick Fairall and Nick Alexander who had severely sprained ankles, and Peter Frenette who is in rehab for an injured hip/pelvis.

USASJ Executive Director, Jeff Hastings said that, “We are all behind these talented athletes as they prepare for another season. The program has offered our ski jumpers with outstanding coaching and Training opportunities and we plan on adding even more for this year. We have some distance to go, but we are pleased with the progress we have seen and are committed to our goals of athletic excellence.”
