USA Ski Jumping Names 2014-15 National Teams

October 31, 2014 (Park City, UT) – USA Ski Jumping (USASJ) has named the athletes that will comprise the 2014-15 US National Ski Jumping Teams. In making the announcement today USASJ Athletic Director Alan Johnson called the squads very impressive, noting, “we have a super dedicated group of athletes and all our bases are covered from seasoned World Cup athletes to very promising young, developing talent. We are delighted by what’s happening.”

Selected to the US National A Team for the upcoming season are a duo of New Hampshire athletes, both of whom were members of the 2014 US Olympic Team that competed in Sochi. Named are Nick Alexander (Lebanon, NH) and Nick Fairall (Andover, NH).

The National B Team will include Will Rhoads, Anders Johnson and Kevin Bickner all of whom reside in Park City, UT and Minnesota’s Christian Friberg.

Named to the US C Team are Mike Glasder (Cary, IL), Brian Wallace (St. Paul, MN) and Alex Haupt (Park City, UT).

Selected to the US Junior National Team are Nick Mattoon, AJ Brown, Trevor Edlund, Miles Lussi and Casey Larson.

In making today’s announcement US Head Ski Jumping coach Clint Jones said that the USASJ teams were very excited to start the season. “Our training this summer and fall has been very productive. For the first time, we will be sending athletes to the first World Cup of the winter in Klingenthal, Germany and will be sending Anders Johnson, Nick Alexander, Will Rhoads and Nick

Fairall, who will be competing there in the team event as well as the individual events. We are really hopeful that they will set the tone for the rest of the winter with some solid results in Germany. The rest of the team will training in Park City prior to departing for Norway in early December for COC and FIS Cup events.”
