USSA Adds New World Cup Service

release by USSA

June 16, 2012 – Cory Wubbels has been added to the USSA’s cross country World Cup service team. This is a new addition to the service staff as the number of cross-country athletes racing on the World Cup is growing. Wubbels has worked as a service tech for the Rossignol race team and the Sun Valley Ski Team, among others.

Peter Johansson, who has worked with USSA since 2006, will take on additional duties this season as our Head of Service. Randy Gibbs and Oleg Ragilo remain our other two World Cup servicemen, along with Wubbels who also has experience with the team after working with us for about three weeks last season when Pete and Barb Vordenberg were having their baby.

“We are very excited to have Cory join our World Cup Service Team. As the size of our World Cup Team has grown over the last several years, the need for increased coaching and service support for this Team has grown as well. Adding Cory to our staff will help us increase our strike-rate for making World Cup winning skis,” said US XC Head Coach, Chris Grover.

“Cory brings a lot of experience in the wax room to the U.S. program, including World Cup service experience with us during the 2011-12 season. Cory has the experience and know-how to help U.S. athletes ski at their absolute potential.”

Great news as we head into this World Championship year!
