Vern Gambetta
Vern is currently the Director of Gambetta Sports Training Systems. He has been the conditioning coach for several teams in Major League Soccer as well as the conditioning consultant to the US Men’s World Cup Soccer team. Vern is the former Director of Conditioning for the Chicago White Sox and Director of Athletic Development for the New York Mets. Vern is recognized internationally as an expert in training and conditioning for sport having worked with world-class athletes and teams in a wide variety of sports. He is a popular speaker and writer on conditioning topics having lectured and conducted clinics in Canada, Japan, Australia and Europe. Vern’s coaching experience spans 39 years at all levels of competition.  Vern has authored six books and over one hundred articles related to coaching and sport performance in a variety of sports. He received his BA from Fresno State University and his teaching credential with a coaching minor from University of California Santa Barbara. Vern obtained his MA in Education with an emphasis in physical education from Stanford University.

Anders Byström
Anders is the current Head Coach of the Norwegian National Junior Team and works daily with education and development in Norway.  He completed his studies in 2007 with a focus on sports psychology.  In 2010 Anders became the Head of Education for the Swedish Ski Federation before transitioning to the Head Coach of the Swedish National Junior Team in 2011.  He has also worked as the Team coordinator for the Swedish National Biathlon Team.

Troy Taylor
Troy is the new Director of Sports Science at USSA.  He earned a master degree in exercise physiology from Loughborough University in 2003.  From 2010 until 2015 Troy was the director of Sport Science and Sport Medicine at the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario (CSIO).  While in this position, Troy worked with many world-class athletes and teams, including Canadian Rowing.  While in Ontario, he was the lead physiologist to Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) for the 2012 Olympic quadrennial, including at the 2012 London Olympics where the team won two silver medals.  Before arriving in Canada, Troy worked as the Senior Sport Physiologist for the Sports Council Wales (SCW).  As a physiologist, he has also worked with endurance sports like swimming and skiing.

Jay Gump
Jay began coaching cyclists in 1995 and over 20 years has coached endurance athletes of all abilities, from weekend warriors to Olympians.  He was one of USA Cycling’s first elite licensed coaches prior to earning an MS in exercise physiology and a PhD in physiology and biophysics.  He now works as an assistant professor of anatomy and physiology at Greenfield Community College.  Jay lives with his wife, daughter, and two dogs in the hill towns of Massachusetts.

Brian Krill
Brian Krill has been a professional educator and involved in athletics the nonprofit sector for over 20 years. He has a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University, and in 2007 established Peak Nonprofit Consulting, LLC. In 2013 Brian transitioned to a position with the United States Ski and Snowboard Association as Club Development Manager launching the new USSA Club Development Program,and now serves as the USSA’s Director of Sport Education.
