January 25, 2010 (Minneapolis, Minnesota) – Team CXC stood atop the podium again this weekend on day two of the USSA Super Tour in the 10/15km Mass Start classic events in Minneapolis. CXC’s Rebecca Dussault led team mate Maria Stuber to a one-two punch in the women’s 10km classic event for the CXC Vertical Limit women’s team, followed by U of Alaska-Fairbanks’ Aurelia Korthauer in third. CXC’s Krstina Owen and Johanna Winters rounded out the top five.

Sunday’s weather was foggy and damp. The trails, while not looking pretty, were re-groomed and double tracked for the mass start race according skinnyski.com. In the men’s 15km classic, mass start, CXC’s Brian Gregg made the winning move to take Martin Baanerud by 4.5 seconds, with CXC teammate Bryan Cook in took third, at 7s behind Baanerud. Sylvan Ellefson (Fischer/SSCV HomeGrown) could not make up the 2-second gap and finished fourth. Saturday’s winner, Matt Leibsch (CXC) placed fifth.

Next on the calendar is the CXC SuperTour on January 30-3, to be held on the World Cup and Birkie Trails at Telemark Resort, in Cable, WI. Events include the FIS SuperTour/Midwest Grand Prix 5/10km classic and a 10/15km freestyle mass start.
