July 13, 2019 – The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has issued a statement regarding Operation Viribus that smashed 17 organized crime groups involved in the trafficking of counterfeit medicines across Europe. The investigation led by Europol, involved 33 countries, and WADA provided practical support and intelligence during the investigation. Officials seized 3.8 million of illicit doping substances and medicines, including nearly 24 tons of raw steroid powder, and opened 839 judicial cases.
