October 22, 2012 (Canmore, AB) – On October 26, Frozen Thunder will host its first major completion when more than 100 senior elite Nordic athletes from Canada and the United States compete in the WinSport Frozen Thunder Classic, presented by Buff.

Key race details and registration:

– Technique: classic sprint
– Classes: open men and women
– Four athletes per heat, with 16 male and female qualifiers for the heats. There will be B-finals.
– Bib pickup: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. on October 26th at Cross Country Canada offices
– Frozen Thunder course will be closed for participating athletes only at 8am.
– Start of time trial: 9 a.m.
– Estimated start of heats: 10 a.m.
– There is no registration fee for this event.
– A map of the course and start/finish area will be posted prior to the event.
– Registration deadline: Thursday, October 25th at noon.
