Women’s Winter Escape at Great Glen Trails

December 29, 2009 (Pinkham Notch, NH) — On Saturday and Sunday, January 16 and 17, 2010, Great Glen Trails will host Women’s Winter Escape, a weekend getaway for women designed to provide relaxation and fun on the snow. With an unmatched pristine mountain setting, Women’s Winter Escape at Great Glen Trails has proven to be a terrific snow country getaway for women. Now in its fourth year, Women’s Winter Escape creates a healthy, fun atmosphere for women looking to enjoy time together on the snow. But, it’s not all about fitness, as there is plenty of time for relaxation, too.

One of the highlights of the weekend are the special cross country ski clinics taught by the female instructors of Great Glen Trails’ world class ski school, including Olympian Sue Wemyss. Clinics are available for beginners, but experienced skiers will find specific offerings focusing hills and gliding for both skate and classic techniques. Women’s Winter Escape also features yoga, massage, a functional fashion show, snowshoe tours, a demo day and dinner with all activities based out of the Great Glen Trails Lodge at the base of Mt. Washington.

January 8, 2008 (Pinkham Notch, NH) – On January 19-20, 2008 Great Glen Trails will host Women’s Winter Escape, a special snow country getaway for women. Beginning on Saturday at 10:00am and wrapping up after lunch on Sunday, the weekend has been designed by women to be the ultimate on-snow getaway and will focus on health, relaxation and fun. Women’s Winter Escape features special cross country ski clinics taught by women, yoga, massage, a functional fashion show, snowshoe tours, a demo day, dogsledding and dinner & wine tasting.

Throughout the weekend, Great Glen Outfitters will be open to match women with the proper gear and clothing for their time on the snow. Special lodging packages are also available.

November 29, 2006 (Pinkham Notch, NH) – Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center announces the Women’s Winter Escape on January 12 – 13, 2007. A snow country getaway for women only, this new event is designed by women for women and will feature cross country ski clinics, wine tasting, a fashion show, yoga, dog sled rides and more.

Women’s Winter Escape is a women-only winter getaway focused on fun, relaxation and learning. Featuring world-class instruction from former Olympians and NCAA All-Americans, the cross country ski clinics are designed for all ability levels.

“There aren’t enough opportunities for women to come together to enjoy the outdoors,” said Mary Power, Events Director Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center. “Women’s Winter Escape is a chance to getaway from it all, relax, share some laughs and be healthy.”
