March 16, 2018 (Newfoundland and Labrador) – Welcome to the 43rd Annual Great Labrador Loppet. As one of the most prestigious and popular community events in Labrador West, the PAL Great Labrador Loppet kicks off each March. Skiers and snowshoers, young and old, can participate in one of three adult events – 10, 28 and 50 km, whatever your pleasure.
The Loppet kicks off in Fermont, Quebec and finishes in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador. Last year we introduced the Children’s 2.5 KM Loop which was a great success! The trails are groomed for both classic and free techniques with refreshment stations positioned along the way. Come ski with us!How to Enter:
Registration is now open on-line through Zone4.ca. The Zone 4 system provides the opportunity for participants to confirm that their entry has been received. Please note: Zone 4 only supports VISA and MasterCard. Payment must be made at the time of registration. Banquet tickets will be available online. Limited tickets will be available on site as well depending on availability. If you have any nutritional resrictions, please call the chalet at 944-5842. This Year we will be having Family Style Turkey Dinner.

Transportation:
Buses will be transporting skier to 10 KM and 28 Km Start lines. They will be leaving the Labrador Mall Soccer Field at 9:00 am. There will be corresponding trucks to busses for participants to put their skies and poles in. Please label your skies prior to putting them on the trucks.
Waxing Facilities and Equipment Rentals:
A waxing trailer with electrical outlets is available at MNSC. If you require rentals for the Loppet, you can rent them the Chalet when you pick you your race bib and chip on March 23rd.

Friday March 23rd
2 pm Loppet Registration cut off
5 pm Free Pasta Dinner & Bib and Chip Pick up at the chalet
Saturday March 24th
9 am 50 Km Race begins on Circular Rd. (Please go to White Wolf and ski down for the start across Circular Rd or be dropped at Circular Rd start. Please remember that the 50 KM race starts at 9 am.)
9 am Buses leave Labrador Mall to the 10 km and 28 km Start Lines
10 am 43rd Great Labrador Loppet begins for 10 km, Ski and Snowshoe and 28 km
11 am Children’s 2.5 Km Race begins at White Wolf Snowmobile Club
1 pm Youth Medal Presentation
4 pm Cut off for skiers to finish 10 km, 28 km and 50 km
7 pm Awards Banquet @ Smokey Mountain Ski Club, cocktails at 6:30 pm
Eligibility and Licenses:
All competitors must be register at Zone4 in order to participate in the 43rd Annual Great Labrador Loppet: Zone4 Link
Waivers:
All participants will automatically sign a digital waiver when registering online for the event. Participants will not be permitted to race without signing the waiver.
Race Entry Fees and Deadlines:
Each members of Menihek Nordic Ski Club receive a $5 discount on registration.
– 10KM Recreational Ski/Snowshoe- $35/ participant
– 28KM Race- $45/ participant
– 50KM Race- $55/ participant

– Race bibs and ankle chips can be picked up March 23rd, 2018 beginning at 5 pm during the FREE Pasta Dinner
– It is mandatory for all participants to pick up their oun bibs and chips at this time.
– Last day for is Registration March 23rd, 2018 @ 4 pm.
– All entry fees include pasta dinner on March 23rd, bus transportation to start line (Duley and Fermont), prizes and medals food and refreshments during and after the race. Banquet/Adult Medal Presentation/Dance on Saturday night: $40/person.
