March 31, 2017 (Fairbanks, Alaska) – Stratton Mountain came from behind to claim the USSA Distance National Championships Mixed Relay title on Friday over APU 1 in second with APU-2 landing third on the podium.

Sophie Caldwell, Benjamin Saxton, Jessie Diggins and Simi Hamilton finally dethroned the local APU favourites who have dominated the relays since their inception in 2014. Settling for second were APU-1’s Kikkan Randall, Erik Bjornsen, Sadie Bjornsen and Scott Patterson while Rosie Brennan, Erik Packer, Chelsea Holmes and David Norris (APU-2) took the final spot on the podium.
