March 02, 2018 (Otepaa, Estonia) – Team USA’s lone competitor, Chloe Levins from Rutland, Vt., delivered a stellar 6th place in the junior women’s 12.5km individual with three penalties at the 2018 IBU Youth/Junior World Championships as Poland’s Kamila Zuk won gold despite two penalties on the range. Canada’s Nadia Moser was 8th with three missed targets and fellow Canuck Megan Bankes was 9th with four penalties.
In the men’s 15km individual Canadian Adam Runnalls was 29th with five penalties while the USA’s Timothy Cunningham was 53rd with six missed targets. Russia’s Igor Malinovskii with three penalties won the gold over Sturla Holm Laegreid of Norway with three penalties at 19.4 seconds back. Malinovskii’s teammate, Said Karimulla Khalili took the bronze medal with two penalties, 23 seconds off the pace. –
