March 03, 2018 (Otepaa, Estonia) – Canada’s Pascale Paradis claimed 15th in the Youth Women’s 6km Sprint with two penalties at 1:04.3 behind Elvira Oeberg of Sweden who won gold despite one missed target. Finland’s Heidi Nikkinen finished second with one penalty at 13.1 seconds behind while third place went to Oeberg’s clean-shooting teammate Amanda Lundstroem, at 16.7 seconds back. The top American was Emma Sterz in 52nd with two penalties.

In the Youth Men’s 12.5km Sprint the USA’s Vaclav Cervenka was 24th suffering three penalties followed by Leo Grandbois (Can) in 33rd also with three missed targets. Mikhail Pervushin of Russia matched Oeberg in the youth men’s sprint by taking his third gold medal with clean shooting in 20:17.3.
