January 11, 2019 (Oberhof, Germany) – The USA’s Sean Doherty placed 22nd in the men’s 10km Sprint with two missed targets as Russia’s Alexander Loginov shot clean for the first World Cup win of his career.
Norway’s Johannes Thingnes Boe finished second at 25.9 seconds back with a single penalty, while Sweden’s Sebastian Samuelsson notched his first career World Cup podium with clean shooting at 36.8 seconds behind Loginov. The top Canuck was Christian Gow in 35th with two penalties.“I am happy to start the new year with a solid race here in the ever-challenging conditions in Oberhof,” said Doherty. “Should be a fun one tomorrow with continued messy weather, so we will see what happens.”
