January 22, 2019 (Lahti, Finland) – The USA’s Gus Schumacher finished a fab 6th in the Junior Men’s 10km FR for a podium appearance at the Junior Worlds on Tuesday. The top Canadian was Remi Drolet in 20th with teammate Sam Hendry in 21st. Jules Chappaz from France was the winner.
“I’m really excited about my 6th place in the 10k. It’s a great sign for U.S. skiing to see that top-10 result get bumped into so often, as last year Ben [Ogden] got that 7th place. I’m super excited about our team as a whole and where we’re going,” said Schumacher. In the Junior Women’s 5km FR the USA’s Kendall Kramer led the charge in 15th with Sydney Palmer – Leger 20th and Novie McCabe in 29th. The top Canadian was Anna Pryce in 43rd as Frida Karlsson from Sweden won gold. Men’s results here.Women’s results here.
