February 04, 2019 (Osrblie, Slovakia) – American Garrett Beckrich was the top North American in 31st with four penalties in the men’s 10km pursuit while Canada’s Zachary Connelly finished 43rd with six missed targets as the 2019 IBU Youth Worlds wrapped up on Sunday. Alex Cisar of Slovenia took the win with one penalty while Remi Broutier of France captured the silver medal, also with one penalty at 59.6 seconds back. The bronze went to Norway’s Vetle Paulsen, with three penalties at 1:43.1 behind Cisar.
The youth women’s 7.5km pursuit Canadian Shilo Rousseau was 35th with four penalties followed by teammate Karly Coyn in 55th with eight missed targets. The top American was Helen Wilson in 58th with nine penalties. Switzerland’s Amy Baserga won gold with two misses over clean-shooting Tereza Vobornikova of Czech Republic who won the silver medal at 8.2 seconds back. Norway’s Maren Bakken, with three penalties, won the bronze, at 13.8 seconds behind Baserga.
