September 10, 2010 (Revelstoke, BC) – The Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club is accepting applications for the position of Custodian of our newly completed Day Lodge and Maintenance facility located on Mount Macpherson. The Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club is a rapidly expanding non-profit organization for recreational and competitive cross-country skiers.

Operations include a day lodge, maintenance facility, stadium area, and approximately 22km of groomed trail. This facility is located 7km south of Revelstoke on Highway 23S. With an average snowfall between 3 to 4 meters, the location on Mount Macpherson is an ideal cross country skiers dream location.

This is a term position for the period starting November 1, 2010 and lasting until April 30, 2011.

General Responsibilities
The Custodian will be responsible for the Ski Chalet and the Maintenance facility which would include:
– snow shoveling also Office operations:
– cleaning
– selling day tickets
– loading pellet stove
– checking passes
– security sweep of facility
– selling season passes
– opening/closing – sales
– resupply of coffee bar
– daily reconciliation
– updating snow phone

A successful candidate should possess:
– the ability to prioritize tasks and achieve high standard and timeliness of work
– polished communication skills
– sales skills
– computer literate
– the ability to multi task
– preference given for cross country skiers who have coaching experience, teaching experience or grooming experience. Couples also preferred.

Schedule:
– Weekly, five days a week Monday to Friday. A minimum of 4 hours per day. Closing on weekends.

Compensation for the successful candidate will include on-site accommodation, with potential to create additional income from program development.
