November 02, 2010 (Canmore, AB) – The Ski Nationals 2011 Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that the Ski Nationals 2011 Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the beautiful Banff Springs Hotel. After a week of intense competition, we are promising a night to remember at the premier venue in the Canadian Rockies. Plan for an evening of great food, entertainment and fun! Athletes, Coaches, Volunteers, Sponsors and Friends are encouraged to visit the www.skinationals.com website regularly for updates about the banquet. A limited number of tickets will be available online at www.zone4.ca closer to the event.

REMINDER – SHUTTLE SERVICE – WE MUST RECEIVE AN INDICATION OF INTEREST PRIOR TO DECEMBER 15, 2010
Importantly, we are also proposing to offer a shuttle service for athletes and coaches (and others) between the official event hotels and the Canmore Nordic Center on all competition and training days as well as transportation to/from the Nationals Banquet in Banff. The idea of the shuttle service is to provide reliable and efficient transportation that may reduce a team’s needs for rented vehicles during the event. Running on an approximately 20-30 minute schedule on competition days, the shuttle will ensure that athletes are picked up at the official event hotels and dropped-off at the Nordic Center well in advance of their competition. A similar schedule will also be offered on training days. All passengers would be returned to their hotels at the end of the day’s competition/training. The cost of this service will be $60/person which is well below the cost of renting a passenger van for the duration of the event.

As the Canmore Nordic Center has limited parking, we strongly encourage use of this service. The shuttle service would also be available for transfers to/from the Calgary Airport at very reasonable rates. In order for this service to be viable, we must have a minimum 300 passengers. If your club/team is interested in this service, please express your interest in the shuttle service as soon as possible and no later than December 15, 2010 to skinationals@canmorenordic.com.
