Subaru Factory Team to Fly on Honey Stinger

October 28, 2003 – En-R-G Foods, Inc., makers of Honey Stinger energy bars and gels, recently announced a two-year sponsorship agreement with the Subaru Factory Team.  The company will continue its support of the elite Nordic ski racing team through 2005 as official bar and gel supplier and Bronze Level Sponsor. According to Len Zanni, Director of Sales and Marketing for EN-R-G Foods, “We're fired up to help the Subaru Factory Team fly again this winter. The team members we've worked with are great ambassadors as well as racers, and we wish them all the best this season.”

The world's oldest, largest and most recognized cross-country skiing trade team, the Subaru Factory Team is comprised of 13 champion athletes, including three Olympians and two national champions. Subaru Factory Team athletes have won ASMS champion's cup titles for the past eight years and have won or been on the podium at the American Birkebeiner for the past seven. Team owner Andrew Gerlach says, “I have nothing but good things to say about Honey Stinger,” and reports that, “after years of choking down every bar and gel available, we discovered Honey Stinger energy food that is easily digested and tasty enough to flavor our oatmeal and tea each morning, yet potent enough to sustain us during races.”

Available in five flavors of gels and four varieties of bars, Honey Stinger combines pure honey with B vitamins and important electrolytes to provide a great tasting energy source. The natural sugars found in honey are lower on the glycemic index than those found in other gels.  Its unique composition allows Honey Stinger to sustain energy levels longer and prevent the “spike and crash” effect common to other energy foods.
