West Yellowstone USSA SuperTour Sprint Qualifications NEW Start Time – 11am

by skitrax.com

November 23, 2010 (West Yellowstone, MT) – The inaugural USSA SuperTour 1.5km Sprints for both classic and freestyle for men and women in West Yellowstone scheduled for 9am on Wed. Nov. 24 with the Qualifications have been postponed to 11am. This just in from USSA Nordic Director John Farra:

The start of tomorrow’s first ever USSA SuperTour double sprint qualifier is being postponed from 9:00 am to 11:00 am due to the storm and predicted frigid temps. We have great snow and two legal FIS homologated sprint courses to test out, and we’re hoping we can pull it all off. Keep checking the race website for updates.

Ironically, the timing contractor and two members of the Jury (including me) are stuck outside of West Yellowstone with road closures all around Idaho. It may be until Wednesday that the roads are opened up.

The races are open to ALL skiers. Competitive racers have the chance to earn points and citizen racers can test their skills against the sport’s top athletes.

Prize money: Fastest combined time of both techniques
– $250 for fastest Man, $250 for fastest Woman
– Medals will be awarded to the top three men and women.
