In Borlaenge, Sweden, Kikkan Randall, who produced the all-time best U.S. women’s Olympic finish when she was ninth in the sprint in Italy, turned in the best all-time U.S. women’s World Cup result March 7, finishing fifth in a 750-meter sprint.
Ski Jumping/Nordic Combined News
Todd Lodwick, 29, the most successful nordic combined skier in U.S. history, raced his last World Cup event Sunday at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival in Oslo. Lodwick won six World Cup events in 13 years on tour and has the best Olympic results by an American skier: 5th in the 2002 sprint, 7th in the ’02 individual competition; last month, he was 8th in the individual, 9th in the sprint. He also has won a U.S.-record eight national championships (and seven jumping titles).
